I grew up in a little town in Arizona and am a big brother to five siblings. I have played sports growing up including football and high jumping. I began lifting weights in high school for football and was inspired to train after hearing awesome stories of my dad powerlifting. I didn’t begin my fitness journey till about 5 years ago though. I had just met my mom after I turned 23 years old and while living with her I heard a quote by Frederick Niche “If you are not making someone else’s life better, than you are wasting your time.” This set me on a path to improve my life so I could lead by example to help others improve their lives mentally and physically. After living in Odessa TX for about a year I decided to move back to Arizona. I eventually felt like I was in a rut. A year of cooking and feeling like I was on a path to nowhere and having a negative self-image about myself. I was given the opportunity to move to Colorado.
My best friend of 20 years asked me to move back with him and that night I quit my job and moved the next day. I had been spending my days wanting something more in life and looked at my own family and seeing that not one had gone to college and everyone lived in this little town still. So, I never looked back. Here I am 4 years later (January 2020).
I have worked in a lot of different jobs since I was 12 years old. Every job in the restaurant industry from cleaning outside to cooking and bartending. Customer service for Zumiez, Bank of America, call centers and Kirby vacuums. I have worked in power plants and been an iron worker as a fabricator. I get how busy life, work and school can be. This gives me a good perspective when clients have life hit them hard. I understand how it can be hard to balance fitness, nutrition and life.
My professional career started at Max Muscle working as a nutrition coach. Becoming certified in nutrition coaching I was able to work with general population, kids, and Professional athletes such as the Colorado Eagles Hockey team and Colorado Eagles Chicks. Also working and finishing a B.S. in Professional Fitness Training and Exercise Science at Bryan University.
Personal training, group training, nutrition coaching and kids kickboxing is what you’ll find me doing at Pursuit nutrition & fitness center. I love using my experience and knowledge to help people achieve any goal they have mentally or physically.
I have a lot of hobbies as well like, drawing/painting, reading, writing, working out, cooking and doing anything outdoors. My favorite time of the year is spring, and my favorite movie is “With Honors”.
